What is included in a Lesson?

For kids group lessons, ages 4-12, lunch is included, but only if you purchase a full day lesson. Teen lunches are optional and available for purchase with full day teen group lessons, but only if you request for your teen to eat lunch with the instructor and not be released at lunch.

How many students are in a group lesson?

Adult classes usually have 8-10 students.

3-4 year old Strider Snowbike classes are limited to 3 students.

4-5 year old classes are limited to 5 students.

If I have never skied or snowboarded before, which adult lesson should I choose?

We recommend that you sign up for a Full Day Lesson if it is your first time on skis or a snowboard (and don’t forget that your first lesson is FREE). Remember to purchase the Columbine Beginner Lift Ticket and to reserve your rentals in advance.  Kids ages 12 and younger are required to wear a helmet during lessons.

Which lesson should I choose for my child if they have never skied or snowboarded before?

Children will be grouped by age and ability level when they meet for their lesson. We recommend a Full Day Group Lesson (and don’t forget that your first lesson is FREE). Lunch is included in the price of the full day lesson for children ages 4-12.

What do I need to know about Teen Group Lesson?
Teens and Adults are often grouped together in our group lessons. When possible, we form age appropriate groups and match them with an age appropriate instructor. When you sign up your teen for a group lesson, we will ask the parent or guardian to indicate whether or not they want their teen to be released on their own for lunch and at the end of the lesson. Teens are defined as ages 13-17.

Parents may request that their teen not be released on their own for lunch. If so, the instructor will eat lunch with the teen. Parents must either purchase a teen lunch before the lesson or give their child lunch money.

What should we wear for our lessons?

Be sure to wear water resistant snow pants, eye protection (goggles or sunglasses), water resistant gloves or mittens, one pair of socks, apply sunscreen and dress in layers.

Do I need to make reservations for group lessons?

Group lessons do not require advance reservations except during peak holiday periods. We ask that you prepay for all advanced reservations. Same day cancellations incur a $20 fee.

Can I request an instructor for my group lesson?

We assign instructors to group lessons by ability level so the only way to request an instructor is to schedule a private lesson in advance.

What time can my child take a half day lesson?

Half day lessons for kids meet at 9:30am and 12:45pm.

Can I be there to watch my child’s lesson?

We don’t recommend it because we feel it may interfere with the group dynamics.

Do I need to make a reservation for a Private Lesson or a Friends & Family Private Lesson?

Yes, we require advance reservations for private lessons to ensure that we will have an instructor available for you. Prepayment is required for private lessons. If you must cancel your reservation, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance or we are required to charge a $52 cancellation fee.

Are lift tickets and equipment included in the cost of a Private Lesson?

No, you will need to purchase lift tickets and rental equipment.

What time do lessons break for lunch?

Lessons generally break for lunch between Noon – 1pm. Lunch is included in kids full day group lessons.

Are there any minimum ages or size requirements for snowbike lessons?

Yes, a person must be at least 13 years old and 5 feet tall to use our snowbikes.
