Purgatory Bike Park Opens Saturday–Here’s What to Expect
Purgatory opens for the summer season this Saturday, May 26th! We’re kicking off opening weekend with a bang–on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, you can expect live music, drink specials, and plenty of food and fun on our summer activities. Along with the festivities on Saturday, we’ll be celebrating the finish of the IHBC Quarter Horse. Join us to welcome the road cyclists riding in from Durango!
For those who can’t wait to hit the dirt (like me!), Purgatory Bike Park also opens on Saturday. We’ll have four trails open: Diggler, Divinity Downhill Flow Trail, 1990 World Championship Course, and 7th Heaven.
We’ve been busy digging out snow and shaping new trails for the last several weeks. We’ll open even more trails later this summer, including the brand new Shangri-La downhill trail, Links, and Pirate. Plus, the backcountry snowpack is melting out quick, so you’ll be able to access those trails shortly.
I’m also stoked to share the news that we’re introducing a brand new feature this summer, the Bike Park Leaderboard. All summer passholders are automatically entered into the bragging-rights-only competition. With each uplift scan, we’ll measure your vertical feet and number of days on the trail.
We’re so excited to see you on Saturday and for the rest of shredding season. Don’t forget to check out our events lineup this summer–there’s so much to do both at at Purgatory Bike Park and at Pajarito. From the Purgatory Grand Prix to the Pajarito Punishment, it’s going to be a fun summer on the trails!
