Spring is off to a snowy start here at Purgatory and our lineup of events is kicking off. Thanks to daylight savings time, we’re able to expand our activities to take advantage of the extra sunlight. Speaking of daylight savings time, please note that our hours of operation have changed to 10:00am-5:00pm daily.
Here’s a roundup of our guests’ favorite ways you can get the most out of your extra hour of sunlight. We’ve got events and activities for every member of the family, so feel free to bring mom, dad, and the kids along for the fun.
Ski-Easter | March 24th
Come enjoy this family-friendly event with easter egg hunts for the kiddos, a chocolate station by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and free coffee and hot cocoa. Your little ones will love searching for eggs around the tubing hill area, while the big kids will have a blast exploring Animas City for the goods. Learn more.
Locals Benefit Day #4 | March 25th
Hit the slopes for less on Locals Benefit Day. Portions of ticket sales will directly benefit local Durango non-profits, while you get the cruise the mountain at a discount. Win-win. Tickets must be purchased online by March 23rd–spread the word! Buy your tickets here.
Mariachi Band on the Beach | March 29th-30th
Catch Mariachi Sonidos Del Monte, from Santa Fe, NM strumming authentic Mariachi music on the beach. Learn more.
Pond Skimming | March 31st
This is a classic spring event you have to see to believe. Watch as skiers and snowboards dress up in crazy costumes and slide across an actual–freezing cold–pond of water. Sign up for a turn if you dare! Learn more.
Aeromyth Concert on the Beach | March 31st
As the last installment in our wildly-popular spring concert series, world-renowned Aerosmith cover band Aeromyth is coming to rock out the beach at Purgatory. Ski all day, catch the pond skimming contest, then head over to the stage for a wild afternoon of classic Aerosmith hits! Learn more.
