Mandatory Evacuations Lifted at Purgatory
La Plata County announced this morning that starting at noon today, 761 residences and 94 businesses that were previously under mandatory evacuation due to the 416 Fire could return to their homes and places of work. This includes Purgatory Resort; we’re encouraged and excited about this news!
We are equally eager to welcome both our employees and our guests back to the resort as soon as possible, but we have decided to keep all resort services closed until the beginning of July, depending on the fire activity. We are committed to communicating our operating schedule as it is finalized. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach us at 970-247-9000 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are forever grateful for the valiant and heroic efforts of the over 1,000 firefighters battling the 416 Fire and we could not be more proud to be a part of the Durango community. While we prepare for our reopening, we encourage you to continue to find ways to support all of those who have been impacted by this incident. For a list of ways to help, click here.
