Leitner-Poma is on the mountain.
Our lift manufacturer, Leitner-Poma, has been on the mountain to survey the new tower locations. As they complete their survey, teams have been hard at work dismantling the old Legends lift. Over the last week, we have removed the chairs from the haul rope, removed the haul rope from the towers and started dismantling the towers.
Once Poma completes their survey, we’ll begin digging the new tower foundations (we’ve rented an excavator that will dig these foundations and it was just trucked up the mountain). The concrete that we’ll use for the new foundations will be flown in via helicopter and, after the chopper drops off the concrete, it will remove the old towers.
Many have asked us the plan for the old Lift 8 and, specifically, if the chairs are for sale. While we know these would look fantastic in backyards or converted into swings, the old chairs are not for sale as we plan to use the lift in the future.
In addition to the lift work, we’ve also been cutting new trails and working on an easier route to the bottom terminal of our new quad. In addition to this trail expansion, we’re now widening the upper headwall on Ray’s Ridge while adding two new intermediate/advanced feeder trails.
These new trails will start at Ray’s and go to the middle of Blackburns and below Boudreaux’s. Click here for a trail map
As you can see, we’re hard at work and we’ll continue to keep you posted on the improvements happening and how we’re getting ready for the 2015-2016 winter season. If you have questions or comments, feel free to leave them here or on our Facebook, Twitter or Instagrampages. Thanks!
