Company Store Volunteer
Position Title:Company Store Volunteer
Reports To:Retail Supervisor
Facilitate the sales of supplemental uniform items to Purgatory employees in the Company Store.
Oversee daily store operations including cleaning, merchandising, and display.
Process sales through retail POS system, handling cash, credit cards, and interdepartmental charges.
Provide courteous customer service.
Assist customers with selection of appropriate clothing and equipment for their needs.
Maintain all merchandise displays in a neat and tidy manner.
Re-stock inventory as needed.
Prepare daily business reports to maintain accurate and up-to-date record of revenues.
Ensure compliance with company store policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Experience in cash handling. Solid customer relations and problem solving skills. Previous retail experience.
Alertness, precision, ingenuity, problem solving, analytic ability, spatial perception, auditory, tactile and visual discrimination, memory, concentration, good judgement, reasoning, initiative, patience, and strong oral and written communication skills are all necessary abilities.
Education or Formal Training: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of retail.
Material and Equipment Directly Used:
Point of sale cash register systems and simple office equipment.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
100% of the workday is spent in a retail environment working with guests and staff. 60% of the workday is spent standing and walking 40% is spent sitting. Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Constantly engaged in normal conversation. Occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and feeling. Atmospheric conditions occasionally include fabric/dye fumes, odors, dusts, and poor ventilation.
