Snowcat Skiing

Purgatory Snowcat Adventures logoPurgatory Snowcat Adventures

With access to over 35,000 acres of expansive terrain in the San Juan backcountry, Purgatory Snowcat Adventures is Colorado’s largest backcountry skiing & snowboarding operation.

Experienced guides help identify perfect lines and navigate the expansive terrain, including wide open bowls, steep trees, rolling cruiser glades, undulating gullies, cliffs and chutes. Runs vary in steepness and skiers or riders must be comfortable in deep powder and tight trees. Your day of snowcat skiing or snowboarding includes avalanche gear, lunch and water (bringing your own water bottle is recommended), highly trained guides, and 500-1,500 feet runs on light, untracked powder. Guests can expect at least 5 runs in a day; most Purgatory Snowcat Adventure guests take 7-9 runs on average.
