Mountain Bike Trails
Click here to download the Trail Status Report (updated July 23, 2015). Home of the first World Mountain Bike Championships in 1990, Purgatory has miles of trails for all ability levels accessible from the base area or via chairlift. Pick up a trail map that details 10 distinct rides for a variety of skills and determine your course for fun and adventure. No matter where you are on the trail, you’ll experience the natural beauty of the area with mixed spruce and aspen forests, wildlife and grass and wildflower meadows as you traverse the mountainside. Stop by the Ticket Office to pick up a trail map and buy a mountain bike uplift ticket that will take you up the mountain so you can explore more of the mountain terrain.
For those who seek more adventurous rides, test your “flow” riding skills on the pump track or time yourself on our mountain bike short track. The Durango Devo Coca-Cola Bike Park is conveniently located in the base area and is a source of great fun for participants and spectators alike.
