NEW: Flow Trail Now Open!
In partnership with Trails 2000 and the U.S. Forest Service, the downhill flow trail was designed and approved, and then constructed by a crew from Purgatory Resort, Trails 2000 and volunteers this summer. The new Divinity Flow Trail is Durango’s only lift-served downhill flow trail.  While it’s considered an intermediate mountain bike trail, it requires no special equipment and features table tops, berms, hits, flyovers, boardwalks and more. All features are optional, making it a downhill trail for any skill level.  Experience the longest lift-served flowtrail in the Durango area, which expands the limits of Purgatory’s 11 other more traditional single track trails.  The new Divinity Flow Trail provides mountain bike enthusiasts with a new technical ride in Durango with nice turns, cool features and multiple options allowing riders to keep their wheels on the ground or catch big air. Fall Sale!  Looking for a mountain bike?  Purgatory Cycle Works has limited quantities of gently used Rocky Mountain Altitude Bicycles available in a variety of sizes.  For more information, visit Cycle Works (near Lift 4), call (970) 385-2154 or email

Home of the first World Mountain Bike Championships in 1990, Purgatory has miles of trails for all ability levels accessible from the base area or via chairlift. Pick up a trail map that details 12 distinct rides for a variety of skills and determine your course for fun and adventure.  No matter where you are on the trail, you’ll experience the natural beauty of the area with mixed spruce and aspen forests, wildlife and grass and wildflower meadows as you traverse the mountainside. Stop by the Ticket Office to pick up a trail map and buy a mountain bike uplift ticket that will take you up the mountain so you can explore more of the mountain terrain.  For helpful tips on trails, be sure to visit the Purgatory Cycle Works Bike Shop.

For those who seek more adventurous rides, test your “flow” riding skills on the pump track or time yourself on our mountain bike short track.  The Durango Devo Coca-Cola Bike Park is conveniently located in the base area and is a source of great fun for participants and spectators alike. (click the map above for trail descriptions)
