This exhilarating, attraction debuted in 2011 and provides a unique perspective of the awe-inspiring San Juan Mountains as you glide 420 feet at speeds up to 35 mph! The adventure starts at the top of the Purgatory Village Tower, the tallest structure in the Durango area, and stretches over Purgatory Beach. Featuring two parallel lines, race your friends or family members for an exciting thrill ride.
Mountain Bike Trails and Rentals
Home of the first World Mountain Bike Championships in 1990, Purgatory has miles of trails for all ability levels, accessible from the base area or via chair lift. Pick up a trail map that details 10 distinct rides for a variety of skills and determine your course for fun and adventure. Experience the natural beauty of the area with mixed spruce and aspen forests, wildlife and grass and wildflower meadows as you traverse the mountainside.
For those who seek more adventurous rides, test your “flow” riding skills on the pump track or time yourself on our mountain bike short track. The Durango Devo Coca-Cola Bike Park is conveniently located in the base area and is a source of great fun for participants and spectators alike.
Purgatory Sports offers adults and children top-of-the-line mountain bike rentals and provides expert service and friendly advice on trails for an epic adventure or a scenic cruise.
Diggler Mountain Scooters
Designed to tackle terrain like a mountain bike and carve turns like a skateboard, the “Original Mountain Scooter” takes fun and adventure to a whole new level! Don't miss the special Diggler Trail that starts at the top of the Twilight Lift. Diggler Scooter rentals are available at Purgatory Sports.
Feel the wind in your hair as you speed down the track, or take a leisurely ride and enjoy the views. Durango Mountain Resort’s Alpine Slide is fun for the whole family. See who makes it to the bottom first!
The 18-hole miniature golf course is fun for golfers of all ages. Tucked along the mountainside, challenge family and friends on this fun course that features unique obstacles and spectacular scenery. Mother Nature provides the incredible backdrop; we supply the ball and putter; you bring the stroke.
Kids of all ages will enjoy trying out their “cowboy” skills on the mechanical bull. This manned and motorized bucking bull provides laughter and fun as family and friends try their hand at “taming” the bull.
Combine exercise and fun as you scale the 24-foot wall in the Plaza. Kids of all ages have fun mastering the wall as they show off their climbing abilities.
