Meet new ski buddies while improving your skills in a group format. Purgatory's Men’s and Women’s Program is a 2 ½ hour alpine ski, snowboard or telemark clinic that runs every Wednesday for eight weeks. These clinics are open to beginners as well those who have previous experience skiing or snowboarding. The program includes lessons, video analysis, ski demo opportunities and a wine and cheese event.

Program Information

  • The program meets once a week for 8 consecutive weeks

  • Sessions meet from 9:30am - Noon

  • Classes available online in skiing and co-ed snowboarding.

  • Telemark clinics are available by forming your own group of 4 students with similar ability levels.

  • No refunds or make-up days for missed sessions.

  • Lift tickets and equipment are not included. 

  • Although we make every effort to keep the same instructor with their group for each session, we cannot guarantee it.

  • Groups are formed based on ability level and similar goals.

  • A minimum of 4 participants enrolled in the same discipline (i.e. ski, snowboard, telemark) is required  to form a class.

  • Form your own group is available. Your group may choose the instructor (if available) and the day of the week. These registrations must be made at Purgatory's Snowsports School or by calling at 970-385-2149.

  • All participants must sign a Release of Liability Form to enroll in the program.  These forms will be available when checking in on the first day. 


Meeting Place
On the first day (January 6th), please join us in the Durango Mountain Club for check-in and a continental breakfast beginning at 8:30 am.  After breakfast, all groups will meet on the snow at 9:30 by the base of Lift 1.

Requests made at least 14 days prior to start of the program will receive a full refund, within 14 days a 50% refund, on or after the first class, no refund.  Cancellations and refunds must be made at the Ski & Ride School Reservation Desk or by calling 970-385-2149.
